What we collect

When you RSVP we collect your name, email, ZIP code, age group, and optionally your phone number and answers to two optional questions (HBCU affiliation and household income range). We also record the approximate region your connection comes from (city and state, never your exact location or IP address) and how you found the page (for example, from our Instagram link), so we can understand our reach. If you RSVP through a friend's invite link, we note that they invited you so we can thank the people spreading the word. When you register as a vendor we collect your business and contact details.

How we use it

• Your name, email, and ticket code run your RSVP and day-of check-in.
• With your opt-in, we send event updates by email. Every message includes a way to opt out, and you can also opt out anytime by emailing us.
• Text updates are part of the free RSVP: when you RSVP you agree we may text the number you provide about the event (updates, the location reveal, and day-of info). Message rates may apply. Replying STOP ends the texts at any time without affecting your RSVP.
• Demographic answers are used only in combined totals (for example, "62% of attendees are HBCU affiliated") to support our nonprofit's sponsorships and reporting. They are never published or shared in a way that identifies you.

What we never do

We never sell your personal information, and we never share your individual details with sponsors or any third party for their own marketing.

Where it lives

Your information is stored in access-controlled services we use to run the event (our registration database and email delivery provider) and is limited to the small team that operates The Ultimate Pop-Up Shop, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
